GTA IV Controversy
Many people here in New Zealand have a huge problem with the newly released game GTA IV, many parents believe that the game is violent, that it is racist and that it should not be sold here, even if it is censored. However these same people are letting their children watch violent images in programs such as CSI and watch restricted movies such as American Gangster. These people have never played these games, they have not seen the underlying humour and satire. They have no idea what it is really like playing these games, like GTA IV. People always need somebody or something to blame for the problems happening around the world in terms of violence, so they decided that they would blame video games as this form of media is spread far and wide and through a wide variety of age groups. These people need to get over themselves and find something else to blame.

Hi, just thought i would add on to this post by providing a review of the new Grand Theft Auto game: GTA IV.
The game was one of the most anticipated games of 2008. After playing for little over two days i can't really give a detailed review, however, my initial feeling is that the game is amazing, everything is so smooth, there are no load times between out and inside, nothing glitches and there is no 'popping' as was experienced in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas when random parts of the scenery would 'pop' because of a slow frame rate. Everything on the Xbox 360 feels natural, the controls take maybe 5 minutes to get used to.
The graphics quality on this game is amazing, you can see when you are going underneath a tree for example because it reflects off your car's body. The body movements of Nico and also pedestrians are no longer preassigned animations as was once the norm. The RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine) engine produces animations in real time. When Nico is hit by a car for example, his body becomes a rag doll and looks exactly like a real person being hit. Everything is simply more lifelike.
I will update everyone with a full review after I have played the game for a while longer and know exactly what has changed in this new, amazing GTA.
Until then...
